Job Description
Overview
LMI seeks a highly motivated System Administrator to support ATIS Learning by ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of learning management system (LMS) infrastructure. This role requires expertise in system administration, cloud-based solutions, and LMS platforms to enhance the Army’s training capabilities. The System Administrator will work closely with technical teams, stakeholders, and instructional designers to optimize ATIS Learning’s performance and ensure compliance with Army IT policies and cybersecurity requirements.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the Moodle-based ATIS Learning Management System (LMS).
- Manage system configurations, updates, patches, and troubleshooting to ensure system stability and security.
- Support cloud-based hosting environments and coordinate with infrastructure teams for system optimization.
- Ensure compliance with Army cybersecurity policies and Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.
- Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to improve uptime and user experience.
- Provide technical support for ATIS Learning users, addressing system-related issues and ensuring seamless learning operations.
- Collaborate with developers, network engineers, and security teams to enhance ATIS Learning functionalities.
- Document system processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Assist in integrating new learning tools, plugins, and third-party applications with Moodle.
- Support disaster recovery and backup strategies for LMS data integrity and security.
- Travel required to in person PI Planning event once per quarter.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in system administration, IT support, or LMS administration.
- Experience managing Moodle LMS or other e-learning platforms.
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows server environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS or Azure.
- Familiarity with Army IT systems, RMF, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience with database management (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- DoD security clearance.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Prior experience supporting ATIS or Army training systems.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Python) for automation.
- Experience integrating third-party learning tools with Moodle.
