About the Role
Our client is a Perth-based financial and business consultancy firm that assists business owners in managing their risk through guidance in business structure, compliance, and business practices. They offer services in bookkeeping, compliance, financial planning, debt raising & financing, corporate governance, and legal advice.
As the company scales, they are seeking a reliable and experienced Mid-Level Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of the business across multiple entities. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented individual who is confident in managing bookkeeping workflows independently, with minimal oversight. You’ll play a key part in keeping the company’s financial data accurate, timely, and properly coded - with a specific focus on inter-company transactions, reconciliations, and GST compliance.
Position Details
- Job Title: Part-Time Mid-Level Bookkeeper (Remote)
- Contract Type: Freelance / Part-Time (20 hours per week initially, opportunity for progression to full-time)
- Salary: AUD $1,000 - $1,600/month (based on experience)
- Location: Remote (Philippines-based candidates preferred)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Reporting To: Client's Office Manager
Requirements
Key Experience
- 2-3 years experience as a bookkeeper or accounting assistant, ideally in a small accounting firm
- Strong proficiency in Xero and Hubdoc, including integrations and automation rules
- Solid understanding of inter-company transactions and how to manage them across multiple entities
- Ability to independently manage:
- Accounts follow-up
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Bookkeeping entries and classification
- Knowledge of Australian GST and tax coding for accurate reconciliation
- High attention to detail, with the ability to set up automation rules and still manually review transactions for accuracy
- Confident written English communication - especially in email-based correspondence, providing clear documentation and explanations when needed
- Strong investigative skills - able to identify discrepancies, track down errors, and ask the right questions without needing to be prompted
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with Australian clients or companies
- Background in managing transactional data across multiple entities
- Familiarity with financial reporting or summaries for small businesses
- Prior work in a remote, autonomous setting
