Job Description
Remote Work: Hybrid
Use DevOps skills to work with customers and internal teams to define, build, sell, and scale Zebra’s revolutionary solution. Understand customer environments and deploy, configure, and monitor all components of Zebra’s solution.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the deployment of Zebra’s solution into customer environments by
a) using simulation tools to find good uses of Zebra’s solution for each customer environment
b) assist in writing scripts and configure various components of the solution for optimal execution
c) sitting alongside the development team to be first user of new features - Communicate directly with customer ops/security/IT staff on a variety of technical aspects. Can listen to feedback to capture customer technical and operational details
- Assist in teaching other internal and external organizations how to use Zebra product
- With general guidance, work with architects, developers, and customers to create a complete end-to-end solution and improve ease of sale, deployment, and monitoring of the solution
- Create scripts and leverage software tools to explore new features and provide new customer capabilities
- Work with two or three computer platforms spanning mini-IOT devices, Android devices, NUC boxes, dedicated servers, and cloud platforms
- Assist in troubleshooting by replicating and investigating bugs or system performance issues
- Understand and use existing REST services and standard enterprise systems such as SSO/Auth providers
- Create documentation around best practices and common issues for system configuration and operation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related technical field
- 2 years
Working knowledge of Linux, Windows, Dockers, and Cloud platforms
Proven ability to adjust to changes in priorities and manage multiple threads effectively and in a timely manner
Demonstrated examples as a team player with ability to navigate organizational boundaries
Working knowledge, and in some cases deep knowledge, of several of the following systems components:
a) Mobile computing software including strong knowledge of Android
b) Generic hardware: servers, networking gear, mobile devices/tablets/laptops
c) Enterprise specific components: web technologies, databases, middleware, frameworks, OSs (server and mobile), virtualization, firewalls, and hosted services (PaaS, SaaS, IaaS, BaaS) including differences from on-premise equivalentsStrong verbal and written communication skills with a high attention to detail
