Position Description:
Develops mobile software applications using Android and iOS design guidelines. Develops Android applications supported by RESTful web services using JetPack Compose and GraphQL. Builds publicly available applications from inception to launch using automated tooling -- Jenkins, Gradle CLI, and Fastlane. Provides mobile thought leadership to advance Health Care mobile outcomes and facilitates a mobile-first approach leveraging Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies. Collaborates with architecture, security, and UXD to build architecturally compliant applications. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects sup-porting several initiatives.
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Defines and implements application level architecture.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) implementing development tasks and developing Android applications using programming languages – Kotlin and Java.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) implementing development tasks and developing Android applications using programming languages – Kotlin and Java.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing TDD and automated testing, using native platform testing frameworks (JUnit and Espresso); building and maintaining mobile applications from the ground up using Android Studio; and writing fully automated and high-quality tests for all aspects of the code to establish one-hundred percent code coverage.
DE performing mobile specific DevOps Tasks Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) using Azure DevOps and Jenkins; building pipelines using FastLane, Shell Scripting, Gradle Command Line, and Build System; and defining build configurations and automating application bundling processes using Android’s managed and remote configurations.
DE analyzing, designing, and developing mobile Android applications using Kotlin Programming Language, Android Studio IDE, JetPack Compose, RxJava, and Jetpack frameworks.
DE integrating Android applications with third party libraries (Google Firebase); collecting analytics and maintaining lifecycle features remotely by implementing integration code using Cloud-based capabilities within the native application.
