The Opportunity:

Alpha Lion is seeking a financial analyst to join our finance team. The finance team is responsible for accurate financial reporting and analysis, delivering actionable insights to management. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial models. Additionally, this role will focus on process improvement and the development of automated reporting solutions. 

Responsibilities:

• Financial reporting
• Collaborate with the accounting team to analyze variances in month-end financial results
• Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for various departments
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting 
• Process improvement and automation
• Develop and implement automated reporting solutions
• Create standardized processes to improve efficiency and consistency
• Work  with team members to identify and improve inefficiencies in financial reporting processes
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Lead the development and maintenance of the budgeting and forecasting processes
• Analyze budget vs. actual performance, identifying the root cause of variances
• Present actionable insights  to senior management
  
  
• Ad-Hoc analysis projects
•  Support various departments by analyzing and connecting data from multiple sources to drive business decisions through financial models and forecasts
•  Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support projects and strategic initiatives
• Data management
• Identify and implement opportunities for record keeping 
• Support data integrations across systems to maintain accuracy, consistency and integrity of information

Skills & competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, or other related field
• Experience as a financial analyst, preferably in ecommerce or retail companies
• Expert Excel user and proficient in other data analysis tools (ex., SQL, Power BI, Tableau, etc)
• Experience with NetSuite preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and able to work across departments with technical and non-technical colleagues
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
