Accountant Controller (Hotel Industry Required) at Howard Financial

Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant with experience in the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will manage accounting functions for clients in the hotel and hospitality sector, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial statements for hospitality clients.
• Handle accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and hospitality industry regulations.
• Collaborate with client teams to provide timely and insightful financial information.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and hospitality management systems.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Availability: Must have availability that overlaps with 9 AM to 5 PM EST.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on the hospitality sector—specifically hotels.
• Solid understanding of hotel-specific accounting practices, including revenue recognition, occupancy tax compliance, and key industry performance metrics.
• Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, and other relevant accounting and reporting tools.
• Demonstrated analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Available to work as an independent contractor providing services to Howard US
