Responsibilities

  • Craft and enhance mainframe applications using programming languages including COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
  • Analyze and resolve bugs and performance issues in existing systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand functional specifications and translate them into technical designs.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for all applications and processes.
  • Continuously seek ways to optimize performance and improve system functionalities.
  • Engage in ongoing learning to stay up-to-date with mainframe technologies and contemporary software development practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8+ years experience in mainframe development, particularly with COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot software issues effectively.
  • Experience in working with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is a plus.
  • Proficient with mainframe tools and technologies.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively within the Vantage team.
