Part-Time Benefits Administrator (Contract)
Abilitie is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Part-Time Benefits Administrator to support our growing team. In this role, you will drive the strategy and daily execution of our employee benefits programs, ensuring a seamless experience for our internal team while managing vendor relationships and compliance tasks. Your work will play a vital part in supporting the well-being of our employees and reinforcing our values-driven culture.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing benefits strategy, including plan selection, vendor evaluation, and implementation
- Help manage internal-facing open enrollment communication and ongoing employee benefit inquiries
- Oversee relationships and communications with benefits brokers and carriers, including onboarding new vendors as needed
- Coordinate benefits-related changes and ensure timely communication regarding reimbursements
- Administer COBRA processes in coordination with Basic Pacific, including new enrollments and remitting payments to accounting
- Support compliance-related one-offs such as IRS filings (e.g., PCORI) and Section 125 Non-Discrimination Testing
- Assist with administrative tasks related to employee leaves of absence
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding duties as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Ability to work an average of 15 hours per week with the flexibility to work greater or less hours depending on business needs
- 3+ years of experience in benefits administration, ideally in a high-growth or remote-first environment
- Strong understanding of U.S. employee benefits programs and applicable regulations
- Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating benefit offerings
- Ability to communicate clearly, empathetically, and effectively with employees
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Google Workspace or Microsoft Office tools
- Highly organized with an eye for detail and the ability to manage confidential information
