Job Description

City Science is seeking a Director of Energy & Environment to lead a division focused on sustainable development and engineering. The role involves driving business growth, managing a team, and ensuring project delivery within a collaborative and innovative environment. The company partners with local authorities and developers to support Net Zero initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of securing and managing a growing pipeline of work.
  • Proven experience of winning new business.
  • Demonstrable experience of P&L and pipeline ownership (at least £3m revenue and profitable project delivery).
  • Ability to demonstrate Director-level knowledge of commercial matters (contracts, legal, compliance, budgeting, planning and profitability).
  • Growth mindset
  • Degree in a technical or scientific field
  • Strong understanding of urban planning, smart city technologies, or related fields
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with software development teams
  • Strong understanding of energy/environment engineering / Net Zero
