Junior Privacy In-house Lawyer (m/f/d) at Booksy
Job Description
About the role
You will join our Compliance Team as a Junior In-House Privacy Lawyer. This role is specifically designed for someone at the starting line of their legal career-whether you are in your final year of law school or a recent graduate-who is eager to build expertise within a dynamic tech/SaaS environment.
You will work side-by-side with our Senior Privacy Lawyer, supporting daily challenges related to GDPR and data privacy across international markets. We prioritize a practical, business-oriented approach—this is where law meets technology and real-world product needs.
What you’ll be doing
- Operational Support: Assisting the Privacy Team with day-to-day tasks to ensure high-quality GDPR/privacy compliance processes.
- Drafting Documentation: Independently preparing straightforward documents (e.g., privacy notices for recruitment, marketing consents) under the guidance of a senior mentor.
- DSR Analysis: Supporting the team in handling Data Subject Requests—analyzing more complex cases and identifying solutions based on regulatory guidance.
- Legal Research: Monitoring decisions from the UODO (and other European DPAs) and translating them into practical, actionable recommendations for the business.
- Legal Tech & AI: Utilizing modern tools (including conscious prompt engineering in ChatGPT) to streamline and improve daily legal workflows.
What we’re looking for
- Education: A final-year law student or a recent graduate (Master of Laws or equivalent).
- Initial Experience: Previous internships or placements in a legal department, compliance function, or law firm, with a clear focus on data protection.
- GDPR Foundations: A solid understanding of GDPR principles and a strong desire for intensive professional growth in this field.
- English Proficiency (min. B2+/C1): Ability to comfortably read legal documentation and draft clear emails/content in English.
- Attention to Detail: High precision, strong organizational skills, and a "quality-first" mindset.
- Proactive Mindset: An openness to feedback and the drive to gradually take on more independent responsibility.
Nice to have:
- Interest in U.S. privacy frameworks (CCPA/CPRA) or emerging tech regulations.
- Experience working in an international or multicultural environment.
What we offer
- Real Impact: You won't just be doing "admin work"—from day one, you will work on the living organism of a global tech company.
- Mentorship: Direct collaboration with a Senior Privacy Lawyer who will help shape your professional career path.
- Flexibility: A fully remote or hybrid work setup with flexible hours (ideal if you are still balancing your final year of studies).
- Modern Toolkit: Hands-on experience with Legal Ops and AI tools integrated into daily legal processes.
- Growth Path: A clear space to learn, test your ideas, and advance within a fast-scaling organization.
