Senior Front-end Engineer (L5/L6 +5 to 8 Years of Exp) at Blazestack
Job Description
We're seeking a senior frontend engineer with deep expertise in modern UI development. You should have demonstrable experience shipping production-grade React applications with component libraries, fluency with TypeScript, Material UI (MUI), and component-driven development, and a track record of building reusable design systems. We're looking for engineers at a Senior (L5) to Staff (L6) level equivalent to FAANG standards—candidates with 5-8+ years of frontend experience who have operated at scale, led component architecture decisions, and mentored other engineers. You'll architect shared component libraries with Storybook, write comprehensive tests (Jest, React Testing Library), and create mockups or collaborate closely with the product team to refine UX. Practice test-driven development, understand CSS-in-JS patterns, and craft interfaces that feel intuitive and accessible. A passion for UX, visual polish, and delivering robust frontend architecture in high-stakes settings is essential. You'll thrive in a fast-moving, remote-first environment and value shipping maintainable, well-tested components that scale across multiple applications.
Core competencies:
- Expert-level React, TypeScript, and modern frontend tooling (Vite, ESBuild)
- Proven experience building and maintaining shared component libraries
- Strong Storybook implementation and component documentation skills
- Comprehensive testing strategies (unit, integration, visual regression)
- Material UI (MUI) customization and theming expertise
- Responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility
- Performance optimization and bundle size management
- Comfortable working with design tools (Figma, Sketch) to translate mockups into production code
- A mindset geared toward user-centered design, with ability to balance rapid iteration with long-term maintainability and component reusability
