About the Role
As a Business Development Representative (BDR), youāll be the first point of contact for small and medium-sized businesses across Australia. Youāll represent Groupon in the market, helping merchants connect with new customers and grow through our platform.
From day one, youāll receive hands-on training and ongoing mentorship, equipping you with the skills needed to succeed in salesānow and long term. Youāll develop expertise across sales strategy, relationship building, negotiation, and commercial decision-making.
š What Youāll Be Doing

š Prospect and engage with local businesses offering experiences Australians loveārestaurants, wellness, activities, and more

āļø Use cold calling and consultative selling techniques to onboard new merchants to the Groupon platform

š” Understand each merchantās business, customer base, and growth objectives

š¤ Structure commercially sound, wināwin deals for both merchants and Groupon

š Lead contract discussions, including margins, discounts, and key commercial terms

šÆ Consistently meetāand aim to exceedāindividual sales targets

š„ Partner closely with the Merchant Development team post-sale to support smooth onboarding and long-term success

š Drive local market growth by onboarding high-quality merchants and expanding regional revenue.
š Weāre Looking for Someone Who Has

š A Bachelorās degree or equivalent practical experience

š¼ 2ā3 yearsā proven success in sales, ideally in inside sales, telesales, or SMB-focused roles

š£ļø Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trust quickly

š A track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets

š§ Strong commercial awareness and sound judgment

šŖ Resilience, adaptability, and a proactive mindset

š» Experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools (highly regarded)
