Database Administrator, MySQL & PostgreSQL at PepsiCo

The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in MySQL and PostgreSQL to manage, maintain, and optimize mission-critical database environments. The DBA will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, scalability, and security of database platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.

Your Impact

As Database Administrator (MySQL & PostgreSQL) your responsibilities would consist of:

• Database Administration: Install, configure, upgrade, and patch MySQL/PostgreSQL. Troubleshoot performance issues, tune queries, and manage replication/clustering.
• Backup & Recovery: Implement backups (pgBackRest, WAL, MySQL Enterprise Backup). Test DR procedures. Maintain patching.
• Cloud & Automation: Manage DBs in AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure, GCP. Automate with Shell/Python/Ansible. Support CI/CD.
• Performance & Capacity Planning: Optimize workloads, forecast scaling needs.
• Security & Compliance: Apply encryption, auditing, and security patching.

Who Are We Looking For?

• 4+ years DBA experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL is a must.
• Replication, clustering, partitioning, sharding.
• Performance tuning, indexing, query optimization.
• Cloud DB experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Migration experience (on-prem ↔ cloud, MySQL ↔ PostgreSQL).
• Linux admin and scripting (Shell/Python).
• Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Percona, pgAdmin).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
