The Community Initiatives Coordinator supports The Jed Foundation (JED)’s growing portfolio of programming with community-based organizations (CBOs), Greek-letter organizations (GLOs), and municipal partners across the country. Reporting to the Director of Community Initiatives, this role serves as a key operational and administrative partner to the Community team, supporting the coordination and implementation of multi-year programs, including the Institute for Youth Mental Health and the CBO Technical Assistance Program. The Community Initiatives Coordinator works closely with internal teams and external partners to coordinate program logistics, maintain program documentation, and ensure smooth execution of program activities across multiple initiatives. This role plays an important behind-the-scenes role in supporting partner engagement, maintaining internal systems, and helping the Community Initiatives team track progress and deliver high-quality programming. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple systems and processes. This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys supporting complex projects, coordinating across teams, and ensuring operational systems run smoothly in support of mission-driven work.Â
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination & Partner Support
- Support program leads in coordinating partner activities and ensuring organizations move smoothly through program milestones and timelines.
- Coordinate logistics for program engagements, including scheduling focus groups, training series, stakeholder meetings, and coaching calls.
- Prepare and distribute meeting materials, document key takeaways, and track follow-up actions after partner and stakeholder engagements.
Program Operations & Systems Management
- Maintain accurate documentation of community initiatives activities, partner engagement, and program milestones across internal systems, including Salesforce and Asana.
- Manage operational systems by entering and maintaining partner contacts, call notes, and program documentation to support program monitoring and leadership updates.
Monitoring, Data Tracking & Reporting
- Track program activities across community-based organizations, Greek-letter organizations, and municipal partners.
- Compile and maintain program data to support internal reporting, leadership updates, program evaluation, and external reporting needs.
- Ensure program documentation, activity tracking, and milestone reporting remain accurate and up to date across Salesforce, Asana, and other internal systems.
Collaboration & Internal Coordination
- Work collaboratively with the Vice President of Community Initiatives & Clinical Advising, the Director of Community Initiatives, the Senior Manager of Greek-Letter Organizations, Community Mental Health Specialists, and other JED staff to ensure coordination across CBO-related workstreams.
- Coordinate across internal teams to align tasks, timelines, and program deliverables across multiple initiatives.
- Support internal communication and project coordination to ensure Community Initiatives programs operate efficiently and effectively.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, psychology, counseling, public health, education, or a related field required.
- 2–5 years of experience supporting program coordination, operations, or administrative functions within nonprofit, community-based, public health, or mission-driven organizations.
- Required experience using project management and CRM systems such as Salesforce and Asana.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to track multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience maintaining documentation, managing internal systems, and coordinating operational processes across teams.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to document program activities and synthesize information clearly.
- Experience supporting program implementation, coordination, or nonprofit program administration is a plus.
- Interest in youth mental health, community health promotion, or nonprofit program delivery.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities within a collaborative team environment.

*While the salary range for this role is $68,000 – $90,000, please note that this scale is benchmarked to major metropolitan hubs like NYC. Compensation for candidates residing in other regions will be scaled appropriately to reflect local market rates.
