• Drive engineering standards and best practices by living them in your own work and helping the team adopt them naturally.
• Identify opportunities to simplify: where complexity has crept in, help the team find the cleaner path forward.

Own quality and reliability

• Champion a testing-first mindset: write tests before code, share frameworks and methodologies with the team, and uphold quality in code review.
• Lead post-mortems after incidents in a blameless, constructive way — and follow through to make sure lessons actually change how we work.

Multiply the team

• Mentor and coach engineers through technical growth — pairing on hard problems, giving honest feedback, and helping people become more confident in their decisions.
• Distribute ownership deliberately so the team can operate at its best — your goal is to grow their capability, not centralize decisions around yourself.

Guide through complexity

• Act as a bridge between technical decisions and team goals, ensuring what we build is aligned with where we’re going.
