Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) at Rent The Runway

📋 Description

• Own performance, reliability, and governance of CloudSQL and MongoDB.
• Data lifecycle management: pruning, archiving, retention.
• Collaborate with engineering to optimize queries and automate workflows.
• Evolve database ops toward cloud-native IaC and CI/CD for changes.
• Build observability: alerts and tracing for data availability.
• Ensure SOX-compliant access controls and auditability in code.

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years with relational DBs (MySQL, Postgres) in production incl CloudSQL/RDS.
• 2+ years with MongoDB; performance tuning and governance.
• Cloud-native environments (prefer GCP); Terraform/IaC.
• Python for scripting/automation in infra workflows.
• CI/CD for database changes; Git-based deployment.
• Data governance: retention, pruning, access controls.
