Software Engineer - Data Plane Management at Astronomer

📋 Description

• Manage provisioning and ongoing compute platform across clouds and Kubernetes resources
• Translate requirements into customer-facing features for the compute plane
• Analyze incidents to identify weaknesses and prevent recurrence
• Build APIs and tooling for the data plane
• Collaborate with engineers on production systems powering customer workloads
• In-office role based in New York City

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/Software Eng or related field (or equivalent)
• Interest in infrastructure/platform engineering, live stateful workloads
• Foundational understanding of distributed systems concepts (microservices, TCP/IP, TLS, HTTP)
• Exposure to a backend language such as Go
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience using AI coding assistants and LLMs to accelerate development
