Flight Sciences Engineer at Elroy Air

📋 Description

• Own vehicle performance modeling across hover, transition, and cruise.
• Build and maintain 6-DOF flight dynamics models for lift+cruise.
• Contribute to vehicle design trades with flight sciences insights.
• Derive external flight loads and collaborate on load cases and aeroelastic models.
• Support flight test planning, instrumentation, and data analysis.
• Build and improve simulation environments for envelope expansion and controls.

🎯 Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Aerospace Engineering or closely related field.
• 5+ years hands-on experience in flight sciences, vehicle performance, or flight dynamics.
• Proficiency in vehicle performance modeling: energy methods and 6-DOF simulations.
• Experience building/working with aerodynamic databases and stability derivatives.
• Familiarity with flight test methods and data reduction.
• Strong programming skills in Python and MATLAB for analysis.
