Engineering Manager, Events Analytics Platform at Sentry

📋 Description

• Grow and develop a team of engineers with ownership and impact
• Set technical and strategic direction for the team, balancing stability with evolution
• Drive core EAP features: analytical queries, routing logic, storage/compute separation, analytics storage
• Ensure EAP can support workloads of AI agents and MCP servers for new AI capabilities
• Guide unification of all event data into EAP for fast cross-event querying
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Product Engineering, Streaming, Production Engineering, Security, and Compliance

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years software engineering, 4+ years people management
• Strong background in data platforms/storage/backends (ClickHouse, Pinot, Druid)
• Distributed systems experience, query optimization, scale of data workloads
• Excellent communication with diverse audiences
• Proficiency in Python or Rust is a plus
• Familiarity with observability/dev tools or event-driven systems is a plus
