Quality Engineering Lead

What You'll Do:

• Develop company-wide Quality Engineering strategy and build a development environment that ensures quality without sacrificing development speed when leveraging AI agents
• Design and implement automated test infrastructure, test data, quality checks in CI/CD, and continuous feedback mechanisms
• Establish an environment where not only developers but also AI agents can detect changes and quality issues, and drive fixes
• Continuously measure test coverage, test execution status, defect detection rate, production defect leakage, and incidents to visualize the state of development speed and quality
• Identify quality issues and bottlenecks from data and drive improvements in development processes, test strategies, architecture, and tools
• Collaborate with each development team to establish processes and operations that enable teams to autonomously improve quality in their daily development
• Hands-on lead technical selection, design, implementation, and review of test automation and quality infrastructure
• Own team management for Quality Engineering members, including goal setting, evaluation, and hiring
• Collaborate with Product Managers and development teams to clarify quality important to the product and drive the design of signals and metrics to capture that state

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience as a Software Engineer, SET, SDET, QA Engineer, Quality Engineer, or similar role in software development or test automation
• Test design and implementation experience in web applications, mobile applications, or backend systems
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with test automation across multiple layers such as unit tests, integration tests, E2E tests, and API tests
• Experience integrating automated tests and quality checks into CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to design and implement test infrastructure, development tools, and business systems using programming languages
• Experience analyzing data on test coverage, defects, incidents, and release quality to drive improvements
• Experience driving technical and organizational improvements by engaging multiple development teams and stakeholders
• Experience managing an engineering team or Quality Engineering team
• Smooth communication ability in Japanese

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AI coding agents or generative AI in software development
• Experience implementing code generation, test generation, code review, and quality analysis by AI agents
• Experience improving quality and building test infrastructure in large-scale or high-traffic services
• Experience designing test strategies for multiple platforms including mobile applications
• Experience defining, visualizing, and operating quality metrics or Engineering Metrics
• Knowledge of Shift Left Testing, test pyramid, continuous testing, Observability, and related concepts
• Experience establishing QA as a responsibility of the entire development team rather than an independent verification process
• Experience collaborating with Product Managers to define product quality including reliability, performance, and usability in addition to functional requirements
• Experience collaborating with global teams using English
