Front End Developer at Sev1Tech

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, back-end developers, and project managers, to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and contribute to the overall design and development process.
• Develop and implement user-friendly, responsive web interfaces and applications using modern front-end technologies (e.g., HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery).
• Ensure the compatibility, scalability, and performance of front-end applications across various browsers, devices, and screen sizes.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that adheres to industry standards and best practices.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of front-end applications, ensuring consistent user experiences and bug-free functionality.
• Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate front-end applications with server-side technologies (e.g., APIs, databases) and assist in resolving any integration issues or dependencies.
• Stay up to date with the latest web development trends, frameworks, and security standards, and propose design and technology enhancements to improve the overall user experience and application performance.
• Work closely with the federal client to understand their specific requirements and security guidelines, ensuring compliance throughout the development lifecycle.
• Assist in the deployment and release of front-end applications, troubleshooting any issues that may arise during the deployment process.
• Participate in code reviews to provide constructive feedback and suggestions for improving code quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to identify and resolve front-end-related bugs or usability concerns.
• Contribute to project documentation, including requirements, design specifications, and user manuals.
• Adhere to project schedules, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines while maintaining a high level of code quality and attention to detail.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Experience using modern front-end web development tools, techniques, and methods for the creation and deployment of user-facing interfaces. Comfortable working in an agile and lean environment to routinely deploy changes.
• Experience with AWS serverless technologies (e.g., API gateway, lambdas, and S3 buckets for serving web pages).
• Design new interfaces with low and high-fidelity mockups using methods like sketching, wireframing, and/or prototyping.
• Practice front-end web development using modern standards and techniques (e.g., ReactJS, HTML5, CSS3, ES6, Flexbox, CSS Grid).
• Familiar with configuring CSS preprocessors and/or postprocessors to optimize fonts and styles for performant and responsive applications (e.g., SCSS, CSS Variables, Postcss, PurgeCSS).
• Create web layouts from static images or prototypes (e.g., Figma) while working with designers and researchers to explore situational user needs and developing to anticipate those needs.
• Ensure Section 508 compliance using accessibility best practices. Incorporate automated accessibility testing into local development tools and CI/CD pipeline.
• Use version control systems, specifically Git. Comfortable using the command line or UI tools (GitHub, GitLab).
• Bonus: Basic knowledge of backend technologies like NodeJS.
• Experience working with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows (e.g., Agile/Scrum).
• Knowledge of federal security guidelines and compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA) and experience developing software solutions adhering to these standards is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into efficient and user-friendly front-end solutions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance is required.

• Active DHS/CISA suitability - 1st priority
• Any DHS badge + DoD Top Secret - 2nd choice
• DoD Top Secret + willingness to obtain DHS/CISA suitability - 3rd choice (it can take 10-60 days to obtain suitability – work can only begin once suitability is fully adjudicated).
