Job Description
XP Power is a FTSE250 business with a success story, doubling in size over the last 5 years and preparing to double again in the next 3-5 years. Our People function is established and is developing with a recently appointed CPO leading on the journey. With people at the core of our business model, the function is recognised as strategic imperative to develop a thriving, agile and resilient individuals and a community based on strong values and culture.
The European region contributes around £60m revenue and is growing substantially including through the recent acquisition of two businesses in Germany. Our people in the UK, Germany, Italy, France, Scandinavia will look to the role holder for support in the full suite of personnel disciplines.
Member of the Global P&O leadership team, the role holder will have a global business partnering responsibility for our Product Development function spread across the USA, Europe and Asia. The role will work alongside global peers to deliver strategic business goals, further develop our talent and to provide expert advice.
We are a small team, globally diverse that makes things happen through continuous collaboration and data insights. To be at your best in this role you will need to be able to deal with ambiguity and be able to go from strategy to ‘hands on, doing the work’ every day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Owns, which means develops, contracts, and implements, the people strategy for the region and for the global function and is responsible to continuously develop the business and its people.
- Business partner who advises proactively on interventions leading to effective, focused, and impactful organisation and ensures relevant capability is assured for now and our future. We are committed to hiring great talent and developing our people further.
- Ensures good and legally compliant people practices and robust governance across all jurisdictions in Europe.
- Collaborates with business partners, colleagues, and employees to further develop work relationships, build a community, and increase productivity and retention.
- Custodian of the XP company culture and continuous influencer of development in our teams, business, and communities.
- Analyse trends and metrics to develop pragmatic solutions, programmes, and policies. And with no shared service this role with their team is responsible for the personnel documentation and governance for the region.
Qualifications
- Significant experience of HR practices in several agile, ideally manufacturing blue chip companies where progressive people practices were developed,
- Proven track record of HR leadership with success in both employee engagement and compliance management.
- Proven track record in managing change and developing a site performance culture.
- Business acumen and understanding of core performance drivers in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid Generalist HR capability across core disciplines of managing the employment cycle – recruitment, development/coaching, compensation & benefits, HR analytics, offboarding to name a few.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
- Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong competency in local and global cultural awareness.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Additional Information
- The role can be based in Pangbourne, near Reading, in the UK or in Rosenheim, near Munich in Germany.
- We offer a hybrid working model at this moment, with required days in our office and flexibility for some days working remote.
- Professional fluency in English is a must, German or another European language is a benefit.
- International experience, including having worked & lived abroad is a benefit.
