Cofounders Archie and Richard have 8 years of experience operating a multi-million-pound executive assistant agency. With our third co-founder Matt Ffrench, we’re now using the 300,000 hours of data they’ve collected to build the best executive assistant AI in the industry. We’re currently onboarding our network of thousands of companies onto the product.

The role

We’re looking for a Product-Focussed Software Engineer to join CTO Matt. We’ve built V1 of our product, but we have so much more to build. And you’ll be a key part of every aspect of it. From speaking with customers through to executing our roadmap.

This is an end-to-end Software Engineer Role. From understanding the requirements to observing the product being used. Through to building a case for improvements, coding those improvements, and iterating on them.

This is quite different from the usual engineer role, so here are some examples of what that might look like:

You discover in user interviews that users are finding the email categorisation feature less accurate than they’d want. You quantify the label accuracy against a real executive assistant’s efforts. You then improve the accuracy using prompt engineering.

You notice from product analytics that generating drafts on the dashboard is slow, causing user drop-off. You change the code to need fewer API calls and figure out where you can use a faster, less accurate LLM for some steps.

Requirements

What we’re looking for

Experience

You’ve worked at an early-stage tech startup (<100 employees) or have been a founder yourself.
You have 3+ years of software engineering experience.
Bonus: You have experience working on an AI product.
Bonus: You’ve worked with some of the tools in our tech stack below.

Behaviours

You’re keen to contribute to data science-type projects, such as prompt engineering to improve the accuracy we can get with GPT-4.
You want to get involved in product work, rather than just being handed tickets. You’ll be expected to come up with features autonomously, by reading customer feedback and analysing usage data.

Skills

You have an expert-level understanding of Typescript and React.
You can function as a full-stack engineer, working on client and server-side code, as well as contributing to DevOps processes such as CI/CD.
