Sr Software Engineer, Cloud Services at Roku

📋 Description

• Build real-time ads auction systems powering Roku Channel ads.
• Own core auction capabilities: pod construction, bid evaluation, ranking, pricing, pacing.
• Build low-latency distributed services at scale handling billions of ad opportunities.
• Design auction logic balancing viewer experience with advertiser performance and publisher yield.
• Lead experimentation with A/B tests, simulations, and offline replay; drive data-driven decisions.
• Partner with product, data science, and ads teams to define vision and roadmap.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems.
• 5+ years working with cloud-based platforms and infrastructure.
• Deep experience building Java microservices for Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or similar cloud services.
• Experience with REST, WebSockets, HTTPS, JSON, and Protobuf.
