Slovakian Translation QA Specialist at Abilitie
Job Description
About the work
Abilitie is translating our AI-powered business simulation cases into Slovakian. We have a defined QA process — what we need is the right native Slovakian speaker to run our translated cases through it and flag where the language falls short.
This is the same workflow we've successfully run for other languages (most recently Korean). The first project will be roughly 10–15 hours of QA work on an initial batch of cases. Once the relationship is established, we would like the opportunity to send similar asks whenever we expand into Slovakian-language content.
What the contractor will do
The contractor plays through a set of AI cases in Slovakian and provides structured QA feedback in a project spreadsheet we'll share. For each case, they will:
- Review both "static" content (English source, AI-translated to Slovakian) and "dynamic" content (AI-generated in Slovakian directly)
- Assign a letter grade (A–F) to each element with a short explanatory note
- Flag specific awkward words, phrases, or patterns that recur across cases
- Pick the strongest case title from a set of AI-generated options (or write their own)
We provide examples in the spreadsheet to anchor the grading approach. The first one or two cases take longer; pace picks up after that. The contractor checks in with Jonathan after the first ~4 hours to calibrate.
Timeline
Approximately 2 weeks from kickoff to wrap on the initial batch. Some flexibility is fine if more time is needed — communication is the only requirement.
Required
- Native Slovakian speaker — this is non-negotiable; we need someone who can tell when phrasing is off the way only a native ear can
- Strong written communication in English (instructions, spreadsheet, and check-ins are in English)
- Reliable turnaround and willingness to flag questions early
- Comfort working asynchronously in a shared spreadsheet
- Available to start in the next few weeks
Nice to have
- Background in manufacturing and business — our cases are set in business contexts (often manufacturing operations), so familiarity with the terminology and dynamics is a real plus
- Prior translation, localization, or linguistic QA experience
- Familiarity with management or leadership content
- Experience reviewing AI-generated text
Logistics
- Compensation: TBC, invoiced for hours worked
- Tools: Google Sheets, our case-playing platform (browser-based, we provide access)
- Reporting: works directly with Jonathan Schneider on day-to-day; Luke Owings handles contracting
